In January, our family of three set off for a magical winter escape to Darwin Forest in Derbyshire. With a fresh blanket of snow covering the landscape, the forest transformed into a true winter wonderland—perfect for exploring with our adventurous 4-year-old, who absolutely loved it! The lodges were amazing with everything you could think of, great showers and kitchens.

We bundled up in warm layers and set off on a scenic woodland walk, where towering trees dusted with snow made for breath-taking views. Our little one had endless fun spotting animal tracks, crunching through the fresh snow, and, of course, building a mini snowman. The excitement on his face was priceless!

After an afternoon of adventure, we warmed up in a cozy countryside pub, sipping hot chocolate by the fire while soaking in the peaceful charm of Derbyshire. It was the perfect winter getaway—filled with laughter, snowy adventures, and unforgettable family moments. The snow made it extra special for us in the UK as its quite rare.
