Daily writing prompt
Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?

As a travel blogger, I’ve crossed paths with all kinds of people on the road — backpackers, bus drivers, chefs, artists, even the occasional misplaced celebrity hiding behind sunglasses in an airport lounge. But the most famous person I’ve ever met was actually someone I didn’t expect at all: David Attenborough.

It happened in the arrivals hall at Heathrow, of all places. I had just flown back from Iceland after chasing the Northern Lights for three nights straight, running on two hours of sleep and one lukewarm airport latte. I looked up, and there he was — gentle smile, blue jumper, walking slowly with a small group. For a second, I honestly thought I was hallucinating from lack of sleep.

I didn’t want to interrupt him, but he caught me staring (in awe), smiled, and said, “Cold trip?” I told him I’d just been out photographing the aurora and he nodded like he’d been there a hundred times — which he probably had.

It was a tiny moment, maybe ten seconds long, but it felt huge. For someone who travels to understand the world better, meeting the man who taught half the planet to love nature felt surreal.

No selfies, no fuss, just a quiet moment with a legend before he disappeared into the crowd. And honestly? That made it even more special.
